World Cat 290 EC - Debuts in Cape Town

The new World Cat 290 EC which arrived in Cape Town in June ’10 will take you and your crew to the 100-fathom line in style and comfort!

World Cat has taken their time–proven catamaran design and re-engineered it with a modern semi displacement design that has morphed into their patented “Vectorflo” hull. This patented design offers coastal anglers an all weather fishing platform with enhanced levels of stability, efficiency and wave cutting rough water performance. As air and water pass through the narrowing tunnel, they combine to create an aerated mixture that become compressed and increases in velocity, hence the patented “Vectroflo” design.
The ever-increasing compression and acceleration literally sucks the aerated mixture creating an aerated cushion suspension that works like a shock absorber increasing stability and fuel efficiency. This is especially true in rough water, where the cleaver-like sharp entry of each sponson contributes to World Cats wave-piercing abilities.

Aside of the smooth ride, the World Cat 290EC also boasts a weather-protect raised helm, and a comfy cabin that allows for overnighters.

The cockpit of the 290 EC is all-business, measuring over 45 square feet with a minimum of 25 inches of cockpit depth to allow you and the crew to angle the big ones to boat side.

There are a total of six flush-mounted rod holders in the gunwales, both fresh and raw water wash down systems, plus port and starboard cockpit toe rails. Twin 250-quart insulated fish boxes will chill out your catch, and the 42-gallon oval livewell with 1,100 gph magnetic drive pump and overboard drain will keep a whole batch of livies ready for the next hook-up.
